This is one of the larger frottage paintings I made recently, nearby to the house that I have been working at for the past two months, in westmount. Noir acrylique enamel peinture, marque behr, sur toile.

besoin-d'aide
The 24-hour laundromat near my house doesn't have anyone working at it. Once in a while the owner, M. Gerry, comes in to check the change in the machines, and cleans up a little. He's a friendly guy. I didn't see him tonight, so I thought I would take a picture of the sign of him.
ouest
Sometimes the light is just right; surreal, with colours painted directly on the landscape. I'm trying to develop a contrast in vision; between the analogous representation of black paint on raw canvas of the two-dimensional textured sidewalk manhole covers, cracks, etc. with the vertical, coloured, three-dimensional world above and around it. Of course, both paintings and photographs are two-dimensional, but since when was I a stickler for details?

wal*mART
Oddly enough, I learned from my french teacher tonight that Nova Scotia recently voted against allowing Sunday shopping in a provincial referendum. It made me think of my wal*mart stencil project (currently one of many projects sitting on the back burner). And as it gets colder, all these outdoor projects are going to pile up there. So I'll post a picture of one of the wal*mart paintings "here", just in case it never makes it out "there".

jen'n'nick
With Jen and Nick (Tim), you never know what is going to happen or be said. It always amazes me how conversations with them slide easily between global politics to scatalogical bodily functions, with comments and reviews of films, music and art in between. Later in a party Nick will often end up with his shirt off and is not afraid to voice (shout) his views on any subject matter at anyone. A Jen and Nick sandwich is the best sandwich in the whole wide world.

parclafontaine
One of the nice things about cycling to work early in the morning is Parc Lafontaine. At this time of year, at 7:30 in the morning, if the skies are clear (they usually are), the sun streaks across the water and through the trees. It's almost enough to make the day bearable.
