Sometimes the light is just right; surreal, with colours painted directly on the landscape. I'm trying to develop a contrast in vision; between the analogous representation of black paint on raw canvas of the two-dimensional textured sidewalk manhole covers, cracks, etc. with the vertical, coloured, three-dimensional world above and around it. Of course, both paintings and photographs are two-dimensional, but since when was I a stickler for details?
